Ranked by Forbes magazine among the top 25 most powerful women in the world, Helen Clark was Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme from 2009 until 2016. In that time she oversaw the UNDP’s work providing advice, training and grant support to developing nations and led its emergence as the world’s most transparent development agency. In April 2016 she announced her candidacy for Secretary-General.

Before taking her UN appointment, Helen was Prime Minister of New Zealand for nine years consecutively from 1999 to 2008.
